High Commission of India to Organise “Rhythms of Rajasthan” in Nicosia and Limassol

Nicosia, 10 August 2026: The High Commission of India in Nicosia will organise two cultural performances titled “Rhythms of Rajasthan” in Nicosia and Limassol on 18 and 19 August 2026, respectively.

The performances will feature Rakhi Sapera and Troupe, a 10-member cultural group from Jaipur empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The troupe will present a selection of Rajasthan’s traditional folk dances and music, including Kalbeliya, Ghoomar, Chari and Bhavai, showcasing the State’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.

The first performance will be held at Pallas Theatre, Nicosia, on Tuesday, 18 August 2026, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The second performance will take place at Laniteio Theatre, Limassol, on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Guests are requested to arrive by 7:00 p.m.

The performances are being organised as part of the High Commission’s cultural outreach in Cyprus and in the broader context of celebrations marking 80 years of India’s Independence. The initiative seeks to introduce audiences in Cyprus to India’s diverse cultural traditions and further strengthen India–Cyprus cultural relations and people-to-people ties.

Admission to both events is free, with prior registration requested. Seating will be unreserved and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
