Global Language Readiness Programme: Online English and Hindi Course Begins on 26 October 2026
Planning to pursue higher education in India? Prepare for academic life and everyday conversations through an online language programme accessible from Cyprus.
The High Commission of India, Nicosia, invites interested students and other eligible foreign nationals to explore the Global Language Readiness Programme, organised by Routes2Roots in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
The programme combines Advanced English for academic learning with Basic Conversational Hindi for daily life in India. The commencement date has been revised to 26 October 2026.
What will participants learn?

English for academic learning: Strengthen language skills to better understand lectures, participate in classroom discussions and communicate in an academic environment.

Hindi for everyday life: Develop basic conversational skills useful for shopping, travel and interaction with local people in India.

Students in Cyprus considering this pathway are encouraged to explore the available scholarship schemes, eligibility conditions, participating institutions and application announcements on the official ICCR website.
The language programme may help prospective students prepare for studying and living in India. It is also open to eligible foreign nationals who do not intend to apply for an ICCR scholarship.
Please note: Admission to the language course and applications for ICCR scholarships are separate processes. Participation in the course does not guarantee a scholarship or university admission.
