Sacred Threads of Wellness: A Cyprus–India Cultural Tribute to International Day of Yoga 2025

As part of the celebrations leading up to the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, Mr. Manish, attended a special cultural programme titled “Sacred Threads of Wellness: A Cyprus–India Tribute to the International Day of Yoga” on 20 June 2025. The event was hosted by the Cyprus–India Cultural Association (CICA) and brought together members of the Cypriot and Indian communities in a celebration of wellness, heritage, and shared values.

In his address, the High Commissioner reaffirmed India’s enduring commitment to promoting wellness, harmony, and cultural understanding, while emphasizing the universal message of the IDY 2025 theme: “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The event featured traditional and contemporary cultural elements, creating a warm and enriching atmosphere of connection between the two nations. It served as a reminder of the deep-rooted cultural ties and people-to-people engagement that define the India–Cyprus partnership.

As a gesture of goodwill, the High Commissioner presented distinguished guests with copies of the book “The Fundamentals of Yoga”, underscoring yoga’s relevance in promoting global well-being, balance, and sustainability.

The High Commission extends appreciation to CICA for organizing this thoughtful and symbolic event, which reflected the growing cultural collaboration between India and Cyprus and the shared commitment to fostering holistic wellness through yoga.
