Launch of the India–Greece–Cyprus (IGC) Business & Investment Council in Limassol

On 16 May 2025, the official launch of the India–Greece–Cyprus (IGC) Business & Investment Council was held in Limassol, marking a significant milestone in trilateral economic cooperation. This initiative represents a strategic move to institutionalize commercial synergies among three innovation-driven economies—India, Greece, and Cyprus.

In his keynote address, High Commissioner of India, Mr. Manish, underscored India’s emergence as the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, its leadership in digital public infrastructure, and its growing partnerships in sectors such as clean energy, sustainable mobility, fintech, tourism, and digital innovation. He also acknowledged Cyprus’s strategic role as a gateway to the European Union, supported by its robust legal, tax, and digital frameworks.

The event, led by the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Eurobank Group, witnessed high-level participation from all three countries, including:

• Ms. Irene Piki, Deputy Minister to the President of Cyprus

• Mr. Kostas Koumis, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Republic of Cyprus

• Dr. Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist, Republic of Cyprus

• Mr. Brij Bhushan Agarwal, Senior Vice President & Incoming President, ICC Kolkata

• Dr. Rajeev Singh, Director General, ICC Kolkata

• Mr. Ioannis Papameletiou, Ambassador of Greece to Cyprus

Also in attendance were CEOs and senior executives from leading institutions such as Invest Cyprus, Mindtree Ltd, Thomas Cook India, The Drone Destination, Eurobank, Hellenic Bank, and Fairfax Data Services, among others.

The launch of the IGC Council is a testament to the growing alignment among India, Greece, and Cyprus in fostering innovation, boosting investment, and driving sustainable growth through strategic collaboration. It sets a strong foundation for deeper economic ties and shared opportunities across sectors and regions.
