India–Cyprus Business & Investment Summit 2026 held in Nicosia

The High Commission of India, Nicosia successfully hosted the India–Cyprus Business & Investment Summit 2026: Transforming Tomorrow on 3 March 2026 in Nicosia. The Summit brought together over 250 Cypriot policymakers, business leaders and entrepreneurs, along with around 20 Indian companies and business representatives, to explore new opportunities for economic cooperation and investment partnerships between India and Cyprus.

Delivering the welcome address, High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Manish highlighted the growing momentum in bilateral relations following the historic visit of the Prime Minister of India to Cyprus in June 2025 and the adoption of the India–Cyprus Joint Action Plan 2025–2029. He noted that India’s scale, innovation ecosystem and talent base, combined with Cyprus’ strategic location and access to the European Union, create strong opportunities for deeper economic collaboration.

The Summit featured addresses by senior Cypriot leaders and institutional representatives, including Mr. Michael Damianos, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry; Ms. Irene Piki, Deputy Minister to the President; Dr. Nicholas A. Ioannides, Deputy Minister of Migration and International Protection; Dr. Demetris Skourides, Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology; Mr. Demetris Assos, Head, Asia & Oceania Directorate, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. George Stavrou, Head, Defence Industry Development Department, Ministry of Defence; Mr. Stavros Stavrou, President, Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Mr. Sanjay Tugnait, President & CEO, Fairfax Digital Services.

Panel discussions covered key areas of India–Cyprus cooperation, including technology and innovation; trade and investment; energy, connectivity and green transition under the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor; human capital and talent; and defence and security cooperation. The discussions brought together policymakers, business leaders and industry experts to identify new avenues for collaboration in sectors such as digital infrastructure, renewable energy, financial services, innovation, talent mobility and defence cooperation.

Three Memoranda of Understanding were signed during the Summit: an MoU between the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry and FICCI to promote trade and investment partnerships; an MoU between CCCI and the Services Export Promotion Council of India to strengthen cooperation in the services sector; and a defence-sector cooperation MoU between Indian and Cypriot companies, marking the first such industry collaboration between the two countries.

The Summit witnessed strong participation from leading chambers, institutions and companies, including FICCI, SEPC, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation, Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Invest Cyprus, Cyprus Stock Exchange, Cyprus–India Business Association, PwC Cyprus, Eurobank Cyprus, CYTA, KPMG, Bank of Cyprus and MSC Shipmanagement, among others.

The India–Cyprus Business & Investment Summit 2026 reflected the growing strategic convergence between India and Cyprus and highlighted the significant potential for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology, innovation, connectivity and business partnerships between India, Cyprus and the wider European region.
