High Commissioner Mr. Manish called on the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal, in New Delhi.
During the meeting, High Commissioner Manish briefed the Hon’ble Minister on the current status of bilateral economic and commercial relations between India and Cyprus. He shared insights on the growing interest of Cypriot businesses in the Indian market, particularly in sectors such as financial services, shipping, renewable energy, and pharmaceuticals. The High Commissioner also outlined ongoing efforts of High Commission to promote Indian exports and attract Cypriot investment into India.
The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the Mission and emphasized the importance of deepening India’s economic engagement with its partners in the European Union, including Cyprus. He expressed full support for initiatives that contribute to strengthening bilateral trade and investment flows.
The two sides also exchanged views on upcoming opportunities for economic diplomacy, including business delegations, trade fairs, and investment forums that can further enhance commercial linkages between India and Cyprus.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment to advancing India’s economic footprint globally through sustained diplomatic engagement and collaboration.
