High Commissioner meets Cyprus Hydrogen Association

High Commissioner Mr. Manish met Mr. Makis Ketonis, President of the Cyprus Hydrogen Association, and its members in Nicosia.

Discussions focused on advancing India–Cyprus cooperation in green hydrogen, renewable energy and sustainable industrial transition. The High Commissioner highlighted the objectives and progress of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, led by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, which aims to position India as a global hub for the production, utilisation and export of green hydrogen.

Both sides explored potential avenues for collaboration, including technology exchange, capacity building, investment partnerships and participation of Cypriot stakeholders in India’s expanding clean energy ecosystem.

The High Commissioner also discussed the forthcoming India–Cyprus Business & Investment Summit 2026, scheduled to be held on 3 March 2026 at Hilton Nicosia, including the dedicated panel on “Energy, Connectivity and Green Transition under the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor.” He thanked Mr. Ketonis for accepting the invitation to participate as a panellist in the session.

The meeting underscored the growing scope for India–Cyprus engagement in emerging energy sectors and clean technologies as part of the broader bilateral partnership.
