High Commissioner Mr. Manish led the participation of the High Commission of India, Nicosia at the Mahashivratri celebrations held at the Shiv Temple, Athienou, one of the largest gatherings of the Indian community in Cyprus, with participation of over 5,000 devotees.

During the celebrations, the High Commissioner interacted with representatives of the Indian community, senior community organisers, temple committee members and volunteers. He appreciated their contribution to preserving Indian cultural traditions and strengthening India’s presence in Cyprus.

He underlined the importance of community cohesion, cultural preservation and constructive diaspora engagement in further deepening India–Cyprus people-to-people ties. He also reaffirmed the High Commission’s continued commitment to efficient consular delivery, structured community outreach and sustained institutional engagement with diaspora organisations across Cyprus.

A Consular Camp was also organised at the venue to provide passport, OCI and other consular services, reinforcing the Mission’s commitment to accessible and responsive consular outreach.

The High Commission was pleased to support and sponsor the event, which reflected the vibrancy, unity and cultural strength of the Indian diaspora in Cyprus.
