Cyprus Hosts Grand Finale of International Day of Yoga 2025

As part of the global celebrations of the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, the High Commission of India, Nicosia, in collaboration with the Municipality of Limassol, Yoga Association Cyprus, and The Art of Living, hosted a grand finale yoga event at Molos Deck, Limassol on 21 June 2025. This marked the largest yoga gathering at a single venue in Cyprus, with over 250 participants in attendance.

The scenic seafront location of Molos Deck provided the ideal backdrop for a celebration that brought together people from all walks of life to promote the values of health, harmony, and holistic well-being. The event was a culmination of the Mission’s multi-week campaign to mark IDY 2025, which began on 4 April 2025 and included more than 18 yoga events across Cyprus, conducted in collaboration with over 15 yoga organisations and institutions.

In his address, High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, Mr. Manish, conveyed his heartfelt appreciation to all partners, instructors, and volunteers. He underlined the significance of this year’s IDY theme — “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” — and emphasized yoga’s global relevance as a tool for promoting physical and mental well-being, inner peace, and environmental consciousness.

Key Highlights of the Grand Finale:

• A mass yoga session with over 250 participants

• Joint participation by members of both the Indian and Cypriot communities, reflecting shared values and friendship

• Presentation of partnership certificates and mementos to yoga organisations and instructors

• Distribution of the yoga book “Yoga for Professionals” to all partners

• Participation certificates awarded to every attendee

• Healthy refreshments served following the session

• A collective atmosphere of peace, vitality, and cultural unity

The Grand Finale represented not only a celebration of yoga but also a significant moment of people-to-people connection and cultural diplomacy. It reinforced the message of India’s wellness diplomacy and yoga’s universal appeal as a practice that transcends boundaries.
